Cathryn Atkinson’s work has appeared in dozens of publications including The Globe and Mail, Report on Business, The Financial Times, Reuters, Agence France-Press, Elle, and The Guardian, where she was on staff as an editor on the Comment & Analysis desk.

She writes about politics, business, energy, climate & Indigenous rights, arts & culture, regional and international affairs. She is happy in newsrooms and working remotely. Digital multi-media has been her focus for years.

Cathryn ran the London Bureau of Children’s Express, a journalism and literacy charity for young people. The project won a UK Press Gazette National Press Award. She continues to work in media literacy as co-creator of an animated TV series currently being pitched to potential partners.

She has travelled extensively throughout Canada, the United States, Europe and Africa for reporting assignments.

Currently, Cathryn reports for DOB Energy, covering the Canadian and U.S. energy industry, geopolitics, workforce issues, education and the energy transition. Previously, she was the North America desk editor and global energy markets editor at capital.com.

Cathryn is based in Victoria, B.C.
